We have been shopping for a Class C for 8 months. During this time, we have noted the same seller listing the same Class C and others over and over (not just one free relist) again with increased prices. Now finally lower costs. With this in mind, we note that eBay newbies seem to be his bidders even though this sellers has 16+ negatives with less than an 84 percent postive feedback rating. The is not school...83.% is NOT a grade to be proud of on eBay!
We have sent emails asking this FL dealer about this, with NO responible response what-so-ever. We stay clear of any seller that gives rediculous responses or none at all.
After being on eBay since 1998, we have learned to stay away from these kind of sellers/dealers. Just because someone lists and claims to be a DEALER in FL does NOT make them an honest seller/dealer. Please, do NOT spend your money when the feedback rating is clearly telling you not to!
Besides eBay feedback, check them out through their business name before you spend thousands of dollars on an RV or car that LOOKS too good to be true. Save your money and prevent many heartaches.
Searching, you will find many honest RV and car dealers on eBay. Remember eBay has some really great deals, but NONE too good to be true!
READ EVERYONE"S FEEDBACK.
There are many guides available on the internet for what to watch for and check when purchasing a motorhome from anyone/anywhere. Be sure to search and read. Many are written by old timers like myself.
REALLY LOW MILES? I would be concerned. Motorhomes are made to be used...the old adage -Use it or lose -it is applied here! Many seals and more will deteriorate. Parked for years and not plugged in allows mold to grow within the unit..perhaps in areas you will not see.
Guides on RVing sites cover everything from roofs, generators, etc.all the way down to tires. Please, remember truck tires are NOT the same as automobile tires.
You should NOT go by the amount of tread folks show in pics! The age of the tire is very important. 5-6 years and they need to be changed out, no matter the tread.
Buying a motorhome (possibly a 12,000++ rig) to take you and your family on the road in can be great fun.......not so when a weakened tire from age blows out/separates and there is chance of an accident or damage to the tanks under your rig!
Use even more of the same common sense you would use on a dealers lot. Do not get taken by lack of information.
Enjoy RVing and be safe........
added 7/25/2006 Just noted --the dealer example given above-- one of thses Class C's the example had listed is now relisted under a new id with zero feedback...but same pics of very same motorhome. Listing says CASH ONLY..get your running shoes on!
If everything looks good to you...Please, call and speak with sellers. Ask for references and a physical address. If claiming to be a dealer, ask for license numbers. Then check them out every way possible. Consider using an excrow service. If the seller will not use an escrow service, do not bid. Run fast the other way!
