Chris Daughtry - 2006 American Idol Finalist Chris Daughtry

American Idol announced their 2006 finalists - 12 men and 12 women.... And right out of the Bo Bice mold comes southern rocker, shaved head and dark-beard wearing Chris Daughtry who is 26 years old and left his wife and kids to audition on American Idol. He has a strong voice and definitely resembles a rock star more than the pop star Rob Thomas that he 'idolizes'. Expect Chris Daughtry to be one of the top idols and around in the last few weeks. I suspect that the voters sick of Fantasia, Clay and Ruben will side with Chris - just as they did with Bo.

Fox posted their Chris Daughtry factoids - the night before the first week of voting begins (Tuesday is the women's competition, Wednesday is the men's, and Thursday is the voting). Below are the Chris Daughtry facts from Fox:

March 1st Chris Daughtry Update

Tonight cemented the fact that Chris Daughtry is the top contestant in American Idol. He performed 10th (last of the night) and sang Fuel's "Hemmorhage (In My Hands)". It was flawless and received rave reviews from Randy, Simon and Paula - who all agreed that Chris Daughtry is ready for prime time - already performing as a seasoned vet. Tremendous performance puts Chris Duaghtry in a league of his own!
