Choosing a new fragrance can be challenging with so many choices out there. While it can seem overwhelming, there are simple ways to eliminate perfumes that don't appeal to you by knowing more about the categories and type of fragrances that appeal to you.

Fragrance is a luxury that can show your individuality, personality, mood, and style. It is like a hidden fashion accesory that can add a variety of moods depending on the scent. There are 9 basic cateories of fragrances.

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
1. Single Floral One specific flower scent-
2. Floral A bouquet of several harmonious flower fragrances
3. Floral Aldehyde A soft powdery note over a floral heart
4. Floral Oriental A bouquet of soft smelling flowers with a touch of distinctive sweet notes
5. Oriental Chypre Spicy sweet flowers softened with a woody note
6. Chypre Mossy-woody complex, citrus top notes and some floral notes
7. Fougere Chypre A woody characteristic dramatised with a tropical top note
8. Soft Oriental Exotic spicy ingredients lightened with green or floral notes
9. Oriental Heavy sweet notes, blended spices, musk and woods

Some of the more exclusive boutique perfumers tend to have great single note fragrance that can still have unique characteristics. For example vanillia is a great scent to wear but there are many many different smelling vanillas. For example  Calypso St. barth - Vanille  is a great vanille very classic.. Take some time and discover what fragrances appeal to you. Do you like sweeter scent? tropical scents? Florals?
Fragrance delevops at different stages based on the notes. Here is a summary of the 3 different notes.
The hottest new fragrances now are kai perfume oilCalypso Gardenia , and Calypso Mimosa . Check out each of these best smellers.

FRAGRANCE NOTES:

1. TOP NOTE
The immediate fragrance impression. The top note provides the freshness and sparkle of a fragrance, it can also be somewhat sharp.

2. MIDDLE NOTE (HEART NOTE)
Emerges as the top note fades. The middle note imparts the true personality and character of the fragrance.

3. BASE NOTE
The final phase.
The base note tenaciously holds the entire fragrance until the last impression disappears.

Always wait for the true smell of the fragrance to emerge after it is applied. This may take 5-10 minutes. Do not judge it immediately it is applied. Fragrances can smell different on different people as the oils combine with eveyone slightly different.

A great way to try before buying is to purchase samples of fragrances. One of our favorite tropical scents is  Kai oil.

Lastly, some of the more exclusive high end perfumes have a much higher qualities of oils. One of the greatest lines on the market is serge lutens from Paris, France. This type of a fragrance typically sell in the $100 range and worth the price if you can afford. But beware a high price doesn't always mean a great smell. And individual opinion goes a long way.

Fragrance is emotion
When you choose a fragrance that you feel is right for you - and wear it often - it becomes a statement of your personality and "mood of the moment".

Fragrance is nostalgic
A particular fragrance can take you back to a certain time and place, a person, an experience. A fragrance that is yours will remind people of you and make them feel your presence.

Fragrance is style
Your fragrance creates an immediate impression on the people you meet. Like the clothes you wear and the makeup you choose....your taste and social awareness.

One you find your like, Keep lots of perfumes so fit different moments.
