I recently was fortunate enough to visit the beautifuly island of Kauai. Naturally some serious shopping is a part of every vacation, and since I sell Hawaiian Shirts my husband and I always gravitated to the racks and racks of beautiful Hawaiian Aloha Shirts. Imagine my amazement when I discovered that the vast majority of the so called "Hawaiian Shirts" were in fact only "designed in Hawaii" and actually manufacturered in such Countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, China and India, and the quality of the stitchery was simply disappointing.
When you purchase traditional Hawaiian Aloha wear, there are numerous features to look for. Top quality Aloha wear is well stitched, and most importantly the print in the fabric matches at the seams and where pockets are attached. The buttons are traditionally made of coconut shell, not plastic or wood. Typically made of good cotton material, which remains comfortable in high humidity and aids the bodies own natural cooling through perspiration. A well made Hawaiian shirt hangs well with a comfortable relaxed fit.
You don't have to be a tourist to love wearing Hawaiian Aloha Shirts, in fact on visits to Hawaii, I see more Hawaiians wearing Aloha shirts than I do tourists. They seem to be worn by virtually everyone.
