I've been a Gibson fan since I was a teenager and I own several including some Epiphone, so when I came across these Chinese knock-offs I thought what an infringement on Gibson this was. As I did more research I got curious and I actually bought one off the Chinese company web site. I bought an SG Model and to my surprise I find it to be an excellent guitar. Everything about it was great, I kept trying to find something wrong with it but I really couldn't. It is also as accurate as it can be including the proper truss rod cover. By no means is this guitar close to a real Gibson SG, but for the $329 I paid for it including a hard shell case and shipping, it is a heck of a deal. You will not find anything else for $329 that comes close to this guitar. I have a real SG I paid three times what I paid for the chinese version, and being honest although I am a Gibson fan, I can't really tell you my real SG is really worth three time as much as the Chinese knock-off.
I know Gibson's been having a tough time with their product being cloned, and I do hope they are successful in addressing the Chinese knock-offs. Out of principle I will not purchase another and I encourage readers not to. China is a country with known human rights violations and less than acceptable working conditions for their workers. It is also a Communist country that would be very pleased to se the USA suffer, they are only interested in our dollar. We should support American companies employing American workers, after all it's our own economy and our country we ultimately help.
