I am a mother of 6 ages range from 14 to 16 months and have 11 neices and nephews so I do feel that I have a lot of experience in buying kids clothes and what brands are the good ones and what sizes you need or approximately anyways.

Brands that I have dealt with that are of good quality are Old Navy, Gap, Gymboree, Tommy Hilfiger and Abercrombie. There are a few brands from Jc Penneys and Target. I will spend more to get the good quality as it lasts and when washing and using a prewash they do not have stain problems. Plus if you are willing to spend a little more and then resell them on ebay you can make money off of these to help with the cost of purchasing more. I have purchased items that have been new or like new off ebay and resold them for almost what I paid for them. A great way to keep these in excellent condition is to wash in cold water, use a liquid fabric softener and then hang them to dry. Some of these brands will call for this on the tags anyways. A good question that I have found to ask buyers is what do the tags say about cleaning as I have purchased a couple of coats and then found the tags say wash in a front load washer.(Most people do not have these yet so this can make for a hardship)

I have found that a great way to buy for the upcoming seasons or to buy for someone else is to take their age in months, as this does not work once they reach the toddler years, and then double that. Example when my children were 3 months old they were in 6 month clothing. This is good to know when you are buying a gift for someone. I have also noticed now that when buying some of these brands, Baby Gap and Gymboree more so than the rest, that they are running almost true to the size that my children are. I have also asked sellers for the length on the inseam as some of the jeans do not fit as well on my 10 year old as she has legs that go on for miles and the same for my 4 year old as she is short, like her mom.

I have found a great deal of Excellent used clothing on ebay, watch for the higher quality brands and save money not having to buy twice!
