Children's Flatware
The lengths in inches are average lengths. The items by different manufacturers and different patterns vary greatly. When you are trying to locate matching items for your pattern always measure the length in inches to the nearest eight of an inch.

Baby Fork
4" to 4-1/2"
These short forks have short blunt tines. They are meant for babies to use when learning to use flatware. -
Baby Spoon
4" to 4-1/2"
These short spoons have large bowls. They are meant for babies to use when learning to use flatware. Some of them have a curved handle. -
Food Pushers
Not well meaning relatives! These are like flat scoops with the blade perpendicular to the handle used to push food on to the fork or spoon. They are not very common and found only in older services. -
Infant Feeding Spoon
6" to 6-1/2"
These have a long handle and small oval bowl. They are used by an adult to feed an infant. -
Youth Fork
5-1/2" to 6"
These are often the same size as a lunch fork. They are for children who are not yet large enough to comfortably use full sized utensils. -
Youth Knife
6" to 7"
These small knives have blunt blades They are often the same knives used at breakfast by adults to spread jam. -
Youth Spoon
5" to 5-1/2"
These are often the same size as a 5 o'clock spoon. They are for children who are not yet large enough to comfortably use full sized utensils.
