There has been a lot of confusion over the AC Heat Control units in 1995 Chevy and GMC trucks and 1996-1998 Chevy and GMC Trucks Including Tahoe Yukon And Suburban.. They look exactly the same from the front, but the 1995 model is completely different. We have at least 10 customers a week who purchase the wrong year model control and end up returning it because it does not plug in correctly. You will need to contact your local dealer with your VIN number if you have a 95 or 96 model, because we have run across 95 models that use 96 controls and vice versa.
Both AC Controls look Exactly the same from the front
1995 Models
The 1995 model has a wiring harness that comes off the back of the control itself. At the end of the wiring of the harness there will be either 2 or 3 plugs ( depending on whether you have rear defrost or not).
1996-1998 models
The control has no wiring harness. There are simply spots to plug the harness into the control itself. The wiring harnesses come off the truck from behind the dash. These harnesses have plugs that plug right into the back of the AC Control unit.
There are many sellers selling these controls as compatible with 1995-1998 models. this is incorrect, you should now know how to purchase the correct control for you truck. Drop us an E-mail if you have any questions
