Frequently, I am interested in a clothing auction only to find very little information about the item is provided. Very few potential buyers will take the time to send an e-mail asking you to fill in the details. Here is a list of information you should include in your clothing auctions to reduce the number of buyer questions, improve their confidence that they will get what they expect, and reduce after-sale complaints.

1. The brand name of the item, exactly as it is spelled on the label.

2. The flat measurements, preferably in both inches and centimeters, as well as the labeled size. The more measurements, the better.

3. A detailed description of the colors, design, and features (for example, slash pockets, double pleats). Do not rely on pictures; colors differ on different monitors and pictures may not download at all, or be difficult for buyers to make out.

4. The fabric content, as listed on the label.

5. The care instructions! Most sellers leave this out, and buyers will be dismayed to find they have unknowingly purchased an item that must be dry cleaned.

6. The honest condition of the item.

7. What the item would look good with (for example, "This blouse would look fantastic with navy slacks or skirt.")

8. At least one picture showing the full item, not folded. I'm surprised at the number of sellers who don't offer any pictures at all. The more pictures, the better. A close-up of the fabric helps buyers who are trying to coordinate a new piece with their existing wardrobe.

Including complete information about your item in your auction will help boost your sales and positive feedbacks.
