Ceramic Cameo Forever

This is titled forever ; as ceramic is forever.It is the choice in Cameo material for the majority of Cameo collectors.

Ceramic Cameos are often multi colored ; occosionally a single shade may be found.

The multi colored are painted before the final kiln firing.. Perhaps by hand ; also by machine.

The single shades are  painted or stained before final firing .Often shaded within one culor group.

Rarer but available are antiqued painted single shades. The easiest way to spot them is the coloring is in the same family , but will vary in intensity on the same piece.

All porcelian Cameos are kiln fired at least twice.

First for any under- glaze painting , than an over - or clear glaze is applied .The double firing will give the upper glaze a glass top.
