For anyone who has a cell phone, whether or not you are buying or selling, you should beware of ANY WATER OR LIQUID your phone comes in contact with. I work for a cell phone insurance company, and more than half of all phones sent back from customers have damage caused by liquid. What happens is that it slowly corrodes the board inside of the phone. It will actually start to look like some food that you left in the refigerator for too long. It could start by dropping calls, won't connect, or simply not turning on at all. If the charge port gets damaged it wont charge. This can happen anywhere. It can be as noticeable as when you spill a drink near your phone, or just by taking it into a steamy bathroom. Here are some other things that cause DCL (damage caused by liquids).

  • Makeup getting between the keys.
  • Sweat getting between  the keys.
  • Steamy rooms.
  • Spilling drinks on or near phone.
  • Oily fingers touching the charge port area.
  • Babies or dogs "slobbering" on phones.
  • DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE TO ATTACH BEDAZZLES OR OTHERWISE DECORATE PHONE! =)
  • DO NTO USE SUPER GLUE TO FIX BROKEN PHONE!
  • Do not use tape to hold phone together. (The glue melts on warm days and gets into phone.)

Here is some other useful information.

One of the easiest places to lose your cell phone: Beach.

It wil be cheaper in the long run to buy new decorated personalized plastic parts than to try and decorate them yourself, and cause damage.

If you start getting that green or white corrosion on your charge port, use Isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing alcohol) and an old toothbrush to gently clean it off. THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT FIX THOUGH.

Last but not least... If you are preparing to send your phone back to be replaced, remember to erase your pictures! Although we enjoy getting some of these pictures, are you sure you want us to see them?
