Celebrating the 2004 Red Sox: World Series Champions
What a year: the 2004 MLB baseball season was filled with ups and downs... and plenty of twists for Red Sox fans. It was a year in which the Yankee's payroll grew even more bloated and the Red Sox roster was drastically different on opening day and again after the trade deadline. The season started with A-Rod nearly joining the Red Sox and ended with A-Rod pathetically slapping Bronson Arroyo's arm during the American League Championship Series (ALCS). It started with Theo Epstein visiting Arizona during Thanksgiving and ended with Curt Schilling's now-famous bloody sock. It started with the Curse of the Bambino and ended with a World Series championships. What a year it was.
If you're like me - a big Boston Red Sox fan - you enjoyed the 2004 season, the late night heroics of the David Ortiz, and the miraculous comeback against the Yankees. This is my guide to celebrating that incredible season and the Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship. I'm sure I've left tons of great collectibles and pieces out, but these are among my favorites:
Authentic David Ortiz Jersey
Two things happened during every one of the Red Sox playoff games: 1) I wore my authentic david Ortiz jersey (yes - bought on eBay at a great price!) and 2) I watched each game with my buddy Chaz and we each ate a Quizno's 12" beef-tip steakhouse sandwich. Strange? Yes. But the David Ortiz jersey is an essential.

Boston Red Sox World Series DVD
Does it get better than a 12 disc, 35 hour of Red Sox World Series documentary? NO! This is the most complete collection of the historic Red Sox 2004 World Series run. Relive every inning, pitch and moment. None of the other Red Sox commemorative DVDs come close - in fact, for any Bostonian or Red Sox fan, this is the bible of baseball. From an 0-3 deficit against the Yankees to the Dave Roberts steal, to Ortiz's heroics, to Schilling's sock, to Foulke's clutch pitching. It goes on and on. I only wish that the DVD included the Anaheim series - after all, Ortiz begin his rampage during that opening series and continue the hot-hitting throughout the playoffs.
