Recently there have been a great many WW1 era Cavalry Bandoleers being sold on ebay. Sadly, many of these are actually reproductions which have either been doctored up, or just sold as they were bought.

The reproductions (at leat now) are made by International Military Antiques, so before bidding on one of these go look at the photos of their repro,   with carefull attention to the material and stitching. And they are stamped "U.S." which the originals were not. Of course, one never knows when a batch may be made with the stamp so do not rely on that.
