Caring for your Frank Lloyd Wright Signature Metalwork's Collection
The entire Frank Lloyd Wright Signature Metalwork's Collection can be displayed outdoors as well as indoors. When displaying indoors there are no maintenance recommendations besides the regular light dusting you do with any item displayed indoors. When displaying outdoors in the elements there are some recommended maintenance that needs to be done yearly to ensure a lifetime of beauty for your item. If you want your piece to last more than twenty or thirty years when displayed in the elements it is recommended that you follow the maintenance plan which is outlined below.
Each piece is finished with a patina over the plating and then sealed with a wax that protects them from the elements, but to ensure their beauty for a lifetime it is recommended that you maintenance them once a year and if near an ocean maintenace them twice a year.
Remember the following maintenance is only if you are displaying these pieces outdoors in the elements.
-
First, lightly rub the piece with a damp cloth.
-
Second, re-seal the piece by applying a coat of clear paste wax (Trewax brand is recommended).
-
Last, buff the piece with a soft cloth
And that is it. Simple once a year maintenance. Twice a year if near an ocean. If you ever have any questions you can always contact us with any questions. You can also view our Signature Collection that we offer by clicking the links below.
