As Care Bear collectors know, Play-Along toys has the license to release new Care Bears plushies.
I've found another licencer during my search for bears, and was disappointed to see no guide up on ebay. Nanco. You can usually tell their bears from the rest. Here is how.
The "Softees" line
-Has THIN shiny velour fabric over a very floppy bear.
- Eyes, with the exception of color, are the SAME. This also applies to their facial expressions.
-Tag says NANCO/Nancy sales.
-Tag states that "This item may not be sold at retail."
- A small ORANGE LOOP is attached to the back of their heads or necks.
-These bears are ONLY available as festival/carnival game prizes, or in the occasional claw machine.
"Other"
-The Cousins as well as the Cubs are also part of this line.
-Most noticeable is the stitches on the bears feet. The hearts are made of felt and are missing the shiny double-stitch thread found on the regular bears.
-The tummy symbols are also made differently, thicker threading with visible stitches.
-The sizes go from 5 inch to jumbo (4 or 5 sizes)
-(Obviously these are lesser quality bears)
The bears that are not part of the "Softees" line are also distinctive. The only difference between them and the "Softees" is that they are sitting down and made of a regular fuzzy fabric.
Pictures will be added.
