First thing that needs to be done is to inspect the headliner to see what Obstructions there may be in the way.
Measuring the decided area for base size fit will also need to be done to insure a proper product fit.
There are 2 Basic Types of universal models - Standard Flat Mount and Trim to Fit options are available in some.
Standard models you will need to be sure the headliner is flush or modified to be for mounting the housing.
Trim to Fit allows for cutting out Curves or Ridges that can be in the way on some vehicle headliners.
Also a couple Basic Configurations - Center mount or when needed/wanted there are Dual Split and Row options.
Center if the area is clear it allows for single roofmount for less costly install or larger monitors to be used.
Dual Split units to each side accommodates vehicles existing consoles and center obstacles such as rear controls.
Dual Row mounted both center middle and rear rows for larger vehicles with no obstructions and multiple viewers.
Other options such as triples, quads and even more are possible especially in larger vehicles.

Q: Do Mobile Electronics Products/Systems Include Everything to Install ?
A: Yes and No. Car A/V products have Mount Hardware, Wiring Harness, Accessories ready to install with any items factory includes new in the box. Mobile Products normally require installation and will not Include the tools or supplies for that part. Hand/Power Tools, Connectors and even minor common wiring may be required for some applications.
Q: How do Mobile Electronics connect for Vehicle Power ?
A: Car Electronics get power from 12VDC vehicle battery in most cases from the fuse box then ground thru metal chassis. Some items will have lighter power options available but unlike Portables plug-n-play is not the norm for Mobile which is further integrated. Hardwire 12V can have Lighter Plugs added to accomodate those applications.
Q: How do Car Video components connect for Audio/Video ?
A: Mobile Items normally use standard Composite RCA A/V patch cables. This allows for most products to have matching connections for more design configurations. Common readily available wiring allows for a variety of placement options without the prefab cable restrictions.
