If you really want to tie up a lot of time working on a car just get a Auto repair guide on C D , toss it in the PC and your on a real time wasting trip .

Something you scan in the can, if your not on the job is a Paper Manual ,if you run out of Toilet Paper you can rip out the last page ,it is for notes and almost no one will miss it . Try that with your dam C D's and the cd that crashed your com puter . If you read on I will tell you How to get a good manual for a few different cars . "No 1" The dealers who sells Motorized  things  will sell you a paper manual or if you are buying a motorized thing from a dealer,Or he can make you a copy of the Dealers Shop Manual as part of the deal . If they will not give you a copy "Walk out the door" belive me you will get it .I once had a Lawn Tractor dealer(IH) chase me back to my car in the parking lot with manual in hand to get the deal back ,He told me factory manuals are not for sale to the public but he would use the copier and make me one to save the sale .I got the Parts list to,and that has saved me many times IH are real bad Lawn machines.  Say you have a 1969 MGB(no dealer) , you might need to go to a parts dealer for a paper manual (or PM ) or find one on EBay (I am not getting payed by ebay).Or find a good Book dealer who can get vintage books. Some Small repair shops have lots of manuls thay have saved over the years and are happy to sell them. What PM is the best ? You might need Two not just One ,or maybe Three . The best standard EZ to get one is printed by Haynes, although a few thing might not work for your year ,Autopress LTD also made a somewhat thin PM but you will need a lot more info then they had in their book ,Glenns made a general imports Guide PM (paper manual or printed on paper manual  IE- book and not by a hp copyer hooked to the com puter.keep in mind HP coper ink cost so much its stupid as well as paper for the dam things) , and some of Gleann's info is useful , I have not seen a Motors on imports ,they seem to do ok with most stuff ,On some cars (& motorcycles)Climers books are OK ,I think Chilton books would be a last resort .But if you can find a British Manual printed by Rootes Limited ,it would be the last word top of the line.As for Rodding the thing you might need a few more books, key word" BOOKS" and a working brain , You might look for a book by a guy named Smokey Yunick first . A lot of race stuff will work on a lot of different cars , but you must use your head not just the books .Many years ago I got a repair book for a VW bug , flipped to the pages on repairing the transmission, and the book showed how to get it out of he car ,and nothing else . The book went on to say that the tranie took so many factory tools you should drop the thing at a dealer .Don't Do it your self . I was mad as he*! & had to find a book that was a working PM , Scientific Magazines printed one on the bug that worked . To me todays CD books are so hard to use ,and lack so much information, they seem like yesterdays book that said take it to the dealer ,and let some kid or train E screw up your car .Todays dealer mechanics are working on the flat rate system and if they take the time to fix the things that started the end problem they are going to starve to death and even more dealers just don't know what they are doing today. So they don't really try to fix things they just replace a few parts and push it out the door, and see if you bring it back for another repair job . Not the way to fix anything , I once worked at a place( Actually Two) that spent a fantastic sum of money for a complete computerized maintenance system for all of their equipment ,did away with all the printed books ,jumped the Union rank and file for wasting all that time looking things up on PCs all over the Plant and closed their doors forever .Saying the Workers ie. Union was at falt .Desk tops and CD s have some of the info but are vary hard to use . Paper books work! EZ to file, EZ to use. And you can set a book on the fender, try that with a desk top  PC & CD .Get dirt on the pages ,its OK ,you are doing something ,and its your book you can dip it in oil if you want to If you get mad you can rip a paper manual it half ,You can't do that with a CD .If you like this or not vote on it so I will know . Remember P C s and C Ds are for playing games that wast your life ,not doing a fast repair job . Books and Blueprints are the way to go .Hay people repaired everything (Cars ,Dish washers,TVsets (who can fix one now?),Lawn mowers) not to long ago before Bill Gates and they found the info Printed on Paper and they did not take all day doing it . One of the reasons our country is going down the tube fast is work place computers wasting time and workers looking at You tube not doing their JOBS !.And it cost a whole lot less to replace a light bulb at work with out a computer ($100 on a new Benz now with all the time wasted looking up the part  on the dam Computer  ) .Please vote Yes or No on this guide Fun and good info vote YES  ,no fun or to long Vote NO  And the hell with CD books all of them ,give me paper and not from a PC printer with water color ink & paper at $50 or more a refill (screw that to ,its a rip off  its just water colors at $2500 a Gal ) THE final word CD manuals involve going through window after window to find something its slow and time consuming and frustrating at best . Find a Good  printed on paper manual that you can set on the fender and save a  your time for beer drinking later .One More Time ! I can flip through any repair "BOOK" 100 times faster and find the page I am looking for ,Before any Lap top or Desk top pc can wast time pulling up more than 3 windows to get to the same page on pdf "if it is even in the right order"that some dude copied from the ripped off dealers paper manual with his home camera and down loaded to a CD so he can black market it over the web . Forget Manuals on CDs and order the real deal at any book store or auto parts store !  VOTE YES OR NO I would like to know what you think?
