Hello, we've been in the candy wrappers business for 3 years now. Here's a re afew things to look for when buying candy favors for your wedding, party, or any event.
Does the auction itself look professional?
How many wrappers are included in the auction you are bidding on? This is very important. Some people confuse the number of dutch items up for sale for the number included in the auction. If you see that a certain number just below the bid button that is the number of auctions that are available in that offering. The number in each auction should appear either in the title and or in the body of the auction itself. If no number appears in either you should contact the seller to make sure it is for the number of items that you need.
How many do you need? If you are purchasing miniatures you would need to have 3 per person at your event.
Is the candy included? This is important to know. Many sellers prefer to not sell the candy. It has to do with the shipping of chocolate especially in the summer months. If the candy is included you'll need to be sure that it will be packed accordingly. Does the seller pack it with the appropriate cold packs and will it be shrink wrapped to keep the condensation of that cold pack away from your wrappers? It should be shipped overnight from April until November in most areas. Some should be shipped this way all year long. Especially in the warmer climates. One thing to remember, if you are ordering wrapped chocolates, once they do arrive let the package come to room temperature for a minimum of 8 hours before opening the box. This will give everything time to settle back in it's original shape before handling.
If you are ordering just the wrappers make sure you find out if they are cut or uncut. If they are uncut they are that way because it's the hardest part of making wrappers. Especially when it comes to the smaller ones like miniatures. Keep this in mind that you will need to cut them. Most likely a paper cutter will be necessary to get them cut accurately. You can always go to your local copy shop and see if they have a paper cutter available for use by the public or have them cut them for you. It's usually pretty inexpensive and they cut them all at once.
I hope this information has been beneficial in your quest to find the perfect candy wrapper for your event. If you have any questions by all means feel free to ask.
