I am a stamp collector who started collecting in 1959. About two years ago I became fascinated by the early Canadian stamp issue Small Queens. Scott numbers the 34-45. Their description of the stamps is confusing. A 3 cent stamp could be a 37 or a 41 (hint 90 % of 37's have color locating dot on bottom left corner of stamp).
The 10 cent is almost as confusing. They used vegetable dyes for color back then - with quite a wide range of results. A two step perforation process causes similar oddities.
If anyone needs help in identifying a stamp I will assist. If you have any to trade let me know what you want for them. Am always interested in acquiring more reference material on early Canada stamps... tks lee
