I am a mommy to 4 wonderful kids and I happen to think one of the biggest money wasters for me had to be buying bottles. I "tried" the nursing thing with every single one of them and succeeded with the 2 youngest but ultimately transistioned to bottles with all. The bottle we used the most was the Playtex Nurser with the disposable bags. It's so easy to just toss out used bag, place a new one in and go. It does get kind of expensive buying all those bags but luckily you can now find generics that work great & are are much much less money. There are a variety of nipples that come with these bottles and it's easy to find at least one that baby likes and will take. My kids liked the silicone tri cut nipples the best. They are a medium flow and can be used from birth on. Playtex bottles only hold 6oz so that becomes a major problem when you have an older baby like mine who demands MORE way more than just 6 oz at a time. For this reason we switched to the Avent bottle. I highly recommend starting right away with the Avent bottle. There is one downfall to this bottle. They sometimes leak if you don't have the nipple placed inside the ring properly. These bottles can be purchased in newborn sizes 4 oz all the way up to 11 oz. my 2 youngest babies really liked the silicone nipple which is similar to the playtex bottles and the Avent bottles were created with the same "less bubbles in babies tummy" concept as Playtex nursers so they are very good for the baby that tends to get fussy and/or colicky. It is sometimes hard to get baby to take a bottle right away. Don't instantly give up on a certain type. try again. Also only buy 1 bottle of different kinds and wash and try them 1 at a time so you can still return the bottles if you find the one right away. Isn't this part of the reason babies cost so much??? We spend money on things we don't need. A LOT OF THINGS=) Best Wishes I hope I've helped someone!
