There are fake compact flash [camera] memory in addition to the fake USB memory.
I recently read a guide about the USB memory. I have a similar story with The Flash Memory Store. I purchased a 4 gb compact flash for my camera [purchased on e-Bay] in late December 2007. I did not buy directly through e-bay but clicked on one of the "view similar items" stores. I paid full asking price with no bid. My order was acknowledged in early January 2008, and shipped three weeks later. The memory was exactly as described in the USB article. It would not format on the camera, took an hour on the computer to try to format, then showed corrupt. I immediately e-mailed the seller, no answer, used their "return" button on their web site, no response, e-mailed 3 other times, called a phone with an answering machine, faxed a copy of my information provided in their first acknowledgement in early January, and e-mailed again. I later took the memory to a camera dealer who pronounced it as a fake. Not one time has this company responded. All I wanted was a replacement and would have paid the postage. Absolutely no response in any manner. I suppose I am just out my money, I bought from a different company for close to the same price and all is well.
