The first thing you need to do when planning a party or event is to pick a theme and a color scheme.

Next how much is in the budget .

Next Decide how many guests you are planning on inviting.

Then where are you planning on holding your event.

Next is your menu and cake.

Next maybe thank you gifts or keepsakes for your guests.

Next is decorations and cake topper.

Each of my cake tops are started by my spending hours looking for the right items to turn into my cake toppers.

Sometimes it can take weeks to find the figures that are needed.

Which means either find it here on ebay or hunting for the right store that carries it.

You see not many places even here in nyc carry these items.

Once i find the themed items i then start looking for the lace or ribbons that match.

I do not buy anything wholesale.i dont even know where the whole sale places are.

Now for the construction of them.

They start with what is called a pro cake top base.

Most people think they are used solely for wedding cake tops which is not true.

Then  hard foam disc as a platform is trimmed and added.

Then each figure,mirror or other background is trimmed then the base is trimmed then all is built into a cake topper.

Each cake toppers uses about 10 to 15 hot glue sticks.

A lot of the items i have used because of the themes were not orginally made for cake tops.

So i have to rethink what to use to make my cake toppers.

.Like when i made a special topper for someone who wanted it in an army theme or the one for their dog, their cat or the  monster truck.

So i have to used light weight toys

so the cake top will not sink [not a good thing]

As with most handmade items there will be imperfections and no 2 are ever identicial.

Taking pictures it very hard because not all the details will show up and since these are not mass produced i dont have a pro photograph taken.

With my cake tops you can buy in advance of the occassion that way you know you have it.

After the event you can clean the plastic base and either display the cake top or store it to hand it to the person as a keepsake for the next generations useage

I know when i was growing up the only cake toppers you found were either for a wedding or a childs birthday and were very limited.

Most people are not accustom to cake toppers i think that is more of a nyc trend.

So im am trying to bring it to the rest of our country

Each one of my cake toppers are made with love and if i wont put it on my cake i wont sell it. so please have a look you just may find one you like.
