Chakras are energy centers throughout the body. Crystal therapists use these centers when using crystals for healing. This guide is to help you identify the chakras. Each chakra has its own color.

Please be sure to inform your doctor about any alternative therapies you have chosen. Many doctors are supportive of your decision as long as you continue the conventional methods of treament as well.

FIRST CHAKRA commonly called the ROOT chakra is located at the end of the spine. Its color is RED and crystals used in this area could include Bloodstone, Obsidian, Carnelian and Ruby in Zoisite to name a few.

SECOND CHAKRA is known as Sacral, Abdominal and sometimes SPLEEN Chakra. Its color is ORANGE and crystals used here might include Orange Calcite, Wulfinite, and Citrine.

THIRD CHAKRA is called the SOLAR PLEXUS Chakra and is located above the navel. Its color is YELLOW and crystals used here include Golden Tiger Eye, Yellow Flourite and Golden Beryl.

FOURTH CHAKRA is our HEART Chakra located in the center of the upper chest. Its color is GREEN and crystals used here would be Green Quartz, Aventurine and Peridot. Rose Quartz is also excellent here.

FIFTH CHAKRA is the THROAT Chakra located in the front area of the throat just above the collarbone. Its color is LIGHT BLUE and some of the crystals used here are Blue Lace Agate, Blue Topaz and Lapiz Lazuli.

SIXTH CHAKRA is the THIRD EYE Chakra, also known as the Brow chakra, located in the center of the forehead, between and a little above the eyes. Its color is INDIGO (a bluish purple) and crystals used here might be Herkimer Diamond, Sodalite and Lepidolite.

SEVENTH CHAKRA is the CROWN Chakra located at the top of the head. Its color is VIOLET to WHITE and crystals preferred here include Moldavite, Sugilite, and Amethyst.

The crystals mentioned here are only a few of the crystals used in chakra balancing, and include the most popular being used in the practice of "laying on stones"

More Chakras are being discovered all the time such as Transpersonal (or thymus) and another Heart Chakra connecting us to Universal Love.
