The con-artist are truly working overtime with BEIJING CHINA again, They are now making some beautiful FAKES of the Highly searched and sought after Callaway X20 Irons and other Callaway Clubs.

The first rumor was the factory is making two version of the Callaway X20 clubs, on the one line the originals and on the other they are making the fakes or counterfeits on a different line and Callaway is currently doing nothing about it.

After I heard about this I decided to ask Callaway Direct about the idea of Callaway Clubs coming from CHINA and I was told only certain components are from CHINA and other locations oversea, but all clubs are assembled and inspected in the USA.

*** After that conversation I called my buddy at EdwinWatts, we talked again on 06/01/2009, The counterfeits will have the a Chinese mark or symbol on the hossle and above or below the #8 iron serial number, they are also placing Warranty & Registration stickers on the shaft just like they were direct from Callaway with the correct telephone number, because the average weekend golfer WILL NEVER register their clubs. ***

• Some of the Callaway components are actually made oversea
  HEADS, GRIPS, SHAFTS, Etc...
• They are shipped to Callaway
• They are assembled in the USA only
  

I was originally told that Callaway were made in the USA and now I'm being told that they do come from oversea and it's getting harder to figure out which ones are which.
However, I have know the folks at EdwinWatts for a long time and will go with that information provided

It's getting crazy out there and after Buyers make a mistake buying this crap, they become a NEW SELLER not accepting PAYPAL because they going for the HIT & RUN to pass their crap to others... ** BEWARE ** of sellers with less than 50 feedback at less than 98 percent.

I have just challenge 3 different eBay sellers this month with ratings above 92% with a 100+ feedback and learn they're selling fakes because of the lame answers I received when asking general questions about their *Supposed NEW Callaways*

Now that some of the FAKES has been learned about by the buyers that has been ripped off, they're wanting to unload their FAKES and will be listing them now as SLIGHTLY, LIGHT, USED ONCE, ORDER WRONG SHAFTS, ETC... You pick the excuse they will use and go from there!!

I just want to update this guide and to make you understand that you must act NOW if not sooner, if you have paid for the counterfeits Callaway Club(s) via PayPal or Credit Card you will be protected,however don't fall into the next phase of their scheme.

I have just learned from a few other eBay members that the seller is trying to persuade the buyer into stalling you from filing a complaint or filing negative feedback.

1.) IF IN DOUBT -- ASK for the serial number from the 8 iron of the X20 and call Callaway direct before bidding
2.) This doesn't prevent the seller from buying a used or new 8 iron to add to the rest of the counterfeits 

• If you have discovered that you did received Counterfeit clubs -- FILE A NEGATIVE FEEDBACK before the listing is removed by eBay, don't hesitate -- No If's or But's (Fraud is Fraud).
• If you have received your Counterfeit clubs -- File a resolution complaint at PayPal as a FAKE Tangible Item
• If you're still waiting for your clubs, still file your Complaint & Claim -- Good chance your item won't come until after the allowed amount of time by PayPal to file has expired.... Why you ask, NO RECOURSE from eBay or PayPal to the seller.
• After you file a complaint - Click on the complaint transaction at PayPal and Escalate it to a Claim
• The purpose of this to freeze the seller account until PayPal &/or eBay can sort the facts out
• Plus the fact you only have X amount of days to file and be protected with your PayPal or Credit Card activity.
• I also just learned that if the seller says they are NEW and you just won't be able to registered them at Callaway Golf -- That means one of few things:
1. THEY ARE COUNTERFEITS
2. THEY ARE STOLEN
3. THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO VERIFY THEM AT CALLAWAY GOLF

The only way I had a clue was the drop shipment coming in from Beijing, China after  I received the item dropshipped from Beijing China, I knew I was in trouble so I file a complaint with PayPal and escalated it a CLAIM for being FAKES..

I was informed that the China illegal club makers are now shipping them direct to the eBay Seller and having them ship them from the USA to the blind buyer to avoid that Drop-Ship Suspicion when you see it arriving from oversea.

I can 100% assure you that NO CALLAWAY Club will ever be 100% made or shipped from CHINA, only certain components of their are made oversea shipped to Callaway in Carlsbad, CA

Again, All Callaway Clubs are assemble and shipped from Carlsbad, CA

The only golf club that is made in the USA at this is the PING's

 PLEASE CALL CALLAWAY GOLF IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOUR CLUB MIGHT ME STOLEN or a FAKE

Callaway customer service really don't mind you calling them to help stop the fakes and counterfeits being purchased by the average person that doesn't know what to look for, and may assist you with legal advice and guidance to help with any claims.

The bottom-line to protect yourself is to buy New or Used from a Certified Retailer recommended by:
Callaway at: 1-800-588-9836

Now, if you have found a Seller at eBay or in Retail selling FAKES, PLEASE PLEASE report them to: LOCAL, COUNTY, STATE, FEDERAL Police and also to: eBay, PayPal and Callaway --- You might be eligible for a Crime-Tip Reward too!

I was very lucky with my transaction and it went a little easier than I was expecting because the seller: (alisha_ace) alisha_ace member profile did issue me a full refund, so I can now breathe a huge duhh for not doing additional research like you're doing now, However PayPal resolution department said that they would have ruled in my favor since I did have the PROOF that they were FAKES, and plus the other fact was I paid for them with PayPal Plus Visa Card.

Speaking of payments --> If you're not sure if you're going to receive a Genuine Original item, then make sure you pay via PayPal or the least with a Major Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or AMEX). so you will have recourse if the transaction goes sour.

I'm not promoting PayPal, however if you pay by:

• Cash "dummy you are"
• Money Order "not too smart but better than sending cash"
• Western Union "good luck getting help"
• Check "your bank might help you"
• PayPal "safer with recourse"
• PayPal Plus Visa "the safest with credit card recourse too"

• 2nd The serial # on the 8 iron was registered to a Fusion Wide Sole 2006 model

• 3rd the China mark above the serial number

• 4th put the fake clubs next to a real set, they don't compare...

• 5th $900.00+ Clubs between $399.99 and $699.99 that should be a red flag alert

• 6th Callaway Golf doesn't allow their Retail stores to sell New Clubs on eBay. "See their complete webpage"
