You can fully restore most Corning Ware to the near new lustre with a few simple and easy to use products. Corning Ware makes a special Cleaner and Conditioner that is formulated for cleaning and conditioning your vintage and newer Corning Ware and Corelle. While this product is superior for the general purpose it is intended for, it is not readily available at stores, I have only found it by buying it direct from Corning Ware or at a Corning Outlet Store. The price is rather high IF you can find it, typically about $5.00 to $6.00 for a 16 oz. bottle.
I have found that Clorox Soft Scrub with Bleach is wonderful for those utensil scrapes inside and for the outside bottom for oven grate and storage marks, it will also clean off the little rust spots you may get from wet pots and pans resting and drying against them in the dish rack or in the dishwasher. Soft Scrub with Bleach is available in most grocery and discount stores and the price is very reasonable compared to the Corning Ware Cleaner. A 36 oz. (2 lb.4 oz.) bottle will cost around $3.50 and it will go along way for cleaning your Corning Ware and your bathroom & kitchen sinks.
Hard water or lime stains can be removed from your Corning Ware or Pyrex Glass Lids with a product called "Lime Away" or "The Works" which is a Toilet Bowl cleaner that is basically like Lime Away but at a fraction of the cost. The Works is made for use with Porcelain/Glass composite material so it will not damage your Corning Ware, Corelle or Pyrex. The Works costs less than $1.00 at most discount and WalMart stores.
If you have real stubborn stains or food stains, you can soak your Corning Ware in HOT water with 1/2 cup bleach and 1/2 cup laundry detergent, the bleach will remove the stains but it works even better when activated by the laundry detergent.
While you are at the store, pick up a Scotch Brite Scrub pad (yellow sponge like pad with hard poly green scrub pad side)...this is perfect for the Corning Ware and Corelle cleaning, it will not scratch the surface and works perfect with the Soft Scrub and they are also dishwasher safe if you need to wash them.
I have also brought back the sparkle to vintage Pyrex Glass Lids and vintage Pyrex Bakeware using 20 Mule Team with Borax and a half cup (1/2 cup) of household Bleach. In a dish pan or plastic tub, use hot water, add the detergent, then the bleach, stir with a wood spoon to mix and then add your Pyrex Glass lid. The glass lid or Pyrex bake pan should be fully covered by the detergent water and let it soak overnight. Be careful when removing the lid the next morning because of the bleach so it does not stain what you are wearing or the carpet, towels etc. Rinse the lid with hot water and then hand wash your lid with your regular Dish Detergent like Palmolive. The lid will look nice and clear again, stubborn lime or hard water stains should be treated with the Lime Cleaner PRIOR to the overnight treatment.
Enjoy your Corning Ware, Corelle and Pyrex Cookware!
