Who the heck is Christian Audigier anyways?

Well you probably have seen or owned something designed by him. He worked with Von Dutch for 3 years making them famous. Also worked with fashion companies like Diesel, Guess, American Outfitters, Bisou Bisou, Levis and more.

He was granted the exclusive rights to Ed Hardy. Than he started his own line Christian Audigier. His most recent line SMET is also taking the fashion industry by storm!

Due to the popularity of his lines fakes are becoming common in the marketplace.  Right now there are tons of disgusting fakes and people are paying outragous prices for them!!!!

The key to IDing authentic pieces in my opinion is all in the design and artwork of the item.

This is what the real shirt should look like:



This is a VERY fake shirt:





I know its hard to see all the details with those photos.  You really need to see bigger photos (so go to my about me page and head over to the forum).


So lets compare. 


Notice how the real graphics are defined. They are not blocky or thick. The colors are not quite right on the fake either. There are to many CA logos on the fake shirt and they are printed with too much ink. There is no foil on the grenade or the logos.

Another good indicator that cannot be seen in the photos is the flocking. Flocking is a felt like material that is used on many of the shirts. It gives the graphic and almost 3D look. The fake shirt looks like it is just a print w/ no flocking at all.

Many of these errors are due to crappy printing used by fakers to cut costs.

Also look at the tags.  The fake tag is incorrect for this shirt.  Some authentic CA shirts do have that type of tag but it is mostly on embroidered shirts where they cannot put the printed tag.
