If you are reading this, you are probably thinking of buying or already bought a "performance chip"
Let me lay it out for you all straight.
All the sellers who state 20-80 HP increases are lying like no tomorrow. Those that state upto 25MPG, same thing.
Bottom line, if it has two wires coming out and it cost less than $100 your going to get ripped of. Trust me, I bought several of them for testing and they are all the same resistor. Usually 33k OHM found at radio shack for $.99 a pack of five.
A real chip costs well over $150 and usually connects to your OBD plug or directly wires into your ECM. Some brands include Bully Dog, JET, HyperTech and Edge.
A resistor on your air temperature sensor wire will give a little better torque and HP on some cars not others.
I have purchased three different chips and tested them on a Nissan Frontier 3.3L and a Chevy Colorado 2.8L. The basic resistor works on the Nissan giving better throttle response and a little HP. Not on the Colorado though.
Believe me or dont, dont say I didnt warn you.
