I bought one!
PLEASE READ MY UPDATE BELOW >>>>dated July 15, 2007
Well let me tell you. If you are buying one of these then you must know it can't be real for the price your getting it for. I did. Well I wanted to see the quality for myself. I read several guides on these impostors. Seems to be other guitar sellers complaining but then at the end of the guide they ask you to buy from them...Hummm.
I just recieved mine the other day. Well first thing I had to do is inspect the pickups and construction. Well to my surprise the pickups were marked Gibson USA on the back side. Pretty impressive, looks real enough. The body has flame front and back like a Supreme and looks incredible, a very nice finish on it, impressed so far. Well after removing the pickups you can see the body construction real easy. Mahagony center with the flame top and bottom, WHAT THE HECK! How can they do this? Well looking closly at the neck joint and I mean with a magnafier what did I see. A damn good set neck thats what I seen. OK OK I am really ticked. This is a darned good guitar and I paid about 2000.00 less for it than my REAL DEAL. Plugged it into my amp and played her. Humm needs a good set up. So I set her up and she just wants to play all day now.
So to conclude, I think I will put a good set of Gibson tuners and a hotter set of Gibson pickup in her and MAN I'M HAPPY. PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you should deside to by one of these. Check the sellers feedback. Make sure the feedback is legite ask questions. I basicly think if you want a nice gutar at a bargain price you can find one. How many items are in your home that a really a copy of something else, labeled as such or not. Great poor mans Gibson. I certainly can't complain about mine. I think the quality is as close as you get constuction and finish wise. Just be careful and know what you buying. Anyone who buys one of these guitars certainly knows what they are buying and if they say they didn't all I can say is "come on don't play dumb"
One last thing, I don't condon using someone elses trade mark, thats wrong, but I still like the one I bought just for myself. Just be careful who you purchase from take your time and remember it is illegal to sell one of these to someone else. Alot of these sellers have very good feedback records and some like there American counter parts, don't. They sell alot of these guitars. Seem alot of folks consider these a good bargain when you compare it to the actual item.
UPDATE July 15, 2007
E bay China no longer, Likely tired of legal issues the big E has changed names. They are now known as eachnetdotcom but believe me it is still E bay with all the same sellers. Why change there name? Well figure it out, likely it is not just a name change it is to seperate the legal issues that make the big E liable but this is only my opinion. If you click on the China link at the bottom of the E bay home page it will take you to a China home page with no Links for items and No search boxes. If you try to log in from there it takes you to E bay HK which is Hong Kong....BIG difference. So if you want the real Big E in China you need to go to eachnetdotcom you need to put the period in the correct place of the address I spelled it out trying to keep the Big E from deleteing my guide here. Not that they would but big brother seems to be every where and the Big E seems to get rid of stuff they don't want us all to know. Being they have not told any of us this may be one of those cases. Good Luck and have fun..
