The current version is an adaptation of much older versions out of Indian and Persian descent. Although not as popular in the US, chess is one of the worlds most popular board games. Chess can be played in many environments such as homes, parks such as Central Park in New York, Community centers, chess clubs, online and in tournaments. Online chess is gaining popularity and if you enter tournaments and win, you could find yourself in the World Chess Rankings. If you are an avid player, there are chess tournaments that cost money with a prize for the winner or if you are a beginner, you can just go play some free chess games. Today, chess is recognized as a sport by the International Olympic Committee.
Chess sets come in many varieties and can be very simple or expremely detailed and extravagent from the chess peices to the chess board itself. The peices to a chess team are the King, Queen, Rook, Biship, Castle, and Pawn. In the game of chess each piece has their specific duties and moves they can do with the ultimate goal to take out the opposing teams King. This guide cannot teach you how to play chess, but I encourage you to learn the chess rules to become a better player. As you play more you will notice your chess strategies start to advance and the game unfolds. This game will challenge the advanced player and even the beginner can have fun when you have a creative and imaginative chess board and chess pieces.
