Talking on CB is great but the most important part of your radio is the antenna.Do not be tempted to buy the cheap magnetic antennas offered by several sellers for as little as $7.99 plus shipping! These things are junk! You will not be able to get a satifactory SWR reading no matter what you do.Buy a quality antenna like Wilson,Firestik,Cobra or even Radio Shack.Beware of antennas with coils or other gadgets that look impressive but do nothing!A 102" whip will work better than most gimmick antennas but is too long for most people.Also most antennas need to be tuned with a SWR meter-this involves moving the whip up or down or even cutting it until you get a good reading on the meter.A perfect antenna will have a 1:1 ratio but anything below 1:2 is good enough for most radios.A good antenna and cheap radio are better than a good radio and cheap antenna!
