100% PURE CASHMERE BLANKETS & THROW BLANKETS AND THEIR BLENDS- YAK, CAMEL & ALPACA: THE WRONG BLENDS FOR CASHMERE

We know, Cashmere's not one of those fibers you'd probably think of as "average." As experts in the field we'd like to share with you information regarding this fiber, fiber mixing, and the recent interest in this Noble fiber and its increasing popularity, manufacturers are offering cheap and inferior products in cost-cutting efforts. The popularity of Pure Cashmere has become astounding over the past several years, and many customers wonder just how to choose Cashmere-does it really matter whether Cashmere is blended with another fiber. The answer is yes, it matters greatly, depending upon the fiber. The only excellent blend is that of Cashmere blended with a high-grade wool. Manufacturers, however, are using other cheap alternatives.

Because of the high price and shortage of high-grade Cashmere, manufacturers are looking for alternatives to help reduce costs, and falsely touting those alternatives as superior. Utilization of low-grade, short and inferior Cashmere fibers has become common, as has mixtures with coarser, inferior types such as Yak, Camel or Alpaca which highly contaminate Cashmere fibers. Many manufacturers intentionally add these fibers to Cashmere as filler, portraying the addition as good rather than truthful: Yak, Camel or Alpaca inclusion greatly reduce Cashmere fabric quality and are amongst the absolute poorest grades of blankets produced. Camel Hair is a wonderful, and actually very soft fiber when used on its own, particularly when the grade is high. Yak and Camel Hair, however, are poor substitutes when added to Pure Cashmere blankets, throws or bedding. Such additions result in extreme coarseness, much-reduced luster and sheen, poor durability and stiff drape.

The finest Cashmere Blankets and Bedding is Made in Italy, with quality dependent upon the manufacturer itself, as looming processes vary greatly. Blanket sizes to the U.S. include Supersize King Size, Cal King/King Size, Queen Size, Full Size and Twin Size.
