In March 1987, Canon introduced the first EOS camera, EOS 650.  It was the beginning of the new auto focus era.  Canon also introduced EF lenses for 650, each lens had built-in motor for silent operation.  Revolutionary EOS auto focus was accurate and quiet, just like newer EOS cameras you can buy now.  Soon, EOS 650 became a super best seller.  It obtained its legendary status and a place in the camera history.  An EOS 650 in excellent condition is a collectors item, as well as a great performer still.

I think Canon EOS 650 has the best combination of high performances and the value for money.
Many find it useful as a backup film camera for digital EOS SLRs, like Rebel XTi, XT, 20D, 30D, 350D, 400D and 5D.  The EOS 650 is a reliable workhorse.
You should be able to find it for $20-$35 on eBay.
