Older Sony M7's have circuit cards inside that show signs of extreme rework, many parts tack soldered to the back of the card . These aren't repairs ! These left the factory that way , it seems Sony left some parts out when they built them . I feel sorry for the factory techs who had to rework these cards day after day ! Also ,the  cameras' rubber covered handle gets sticky and decomposes, leaving sticky black goo on your hands. I have picked up one of these by the handle and had the rubber covering on the handle separate from the handle and stick to my hand , I had to use paint thinner to get the stuff off .You would think that for what these cameras went for new ,Sony could have made the handle out of something more durable . If your camera is in good condition it can give a very good picture ,very few ordinary TV sets can do this camera justice .I like the M7 because of the flexibility ,you can use any recording device you prefer. What kills these cameras is heat ! Leave it in the back seat of your car on a hot day  ,then turn it on and shoot pictures ,sooner or later ,fried camera!  Most of the repairs I have done involve replacing swollen and burst capacitors .Leaving these cameras on 24/7 can only shorten their useful lives. Heat and aging parts make the camera go out of adjustment ,and there are at least fifty adjustment resistors mounted on the cards where you can't get at them . Modern digital cameras are adjusted in software ,very few actual  adjustment resistors .Most M7 cameras I have worked on have damaged IR filters ,they are cemented and heat causes the filter to fog up .  The M7 is a very quiet camera video  noise wise ,I have shot a decent picture with with the gain turned up and nothing but a desk lamp for light .I like the fact that it has Y/C-RGB-Composite output available . These can interface with modern S-video equipment . Before you bid ,make sure the camera actually has circuit boards inside ,and make sure the lens (if it comes with a lens )has the correct plug for use with the M7, a lens for a DXC 3000 will fit the camera , but cannot plug into an  M7. If you are trying to earn a living with your camera you should invest in a modern digital camera ,these old cameras are best saved for hobby use only .
