A few things to consider about repacks.
The purpose of this guide is to protect buyers from repack scammers. Not everyone selling repacks are crooks, but those are not the people this guide is about.
Repacks are not for everyone, and more often than not, you are not going to get what you want.
Many repack sellers offer the chance to "win" a Black Lotus, Moxes, or other power 9 cards. Before you bid, here are a few things to look at.
- If someone has bought a small block of repacks immediately (within 15 minutes) after the posting, it's likely that it was a buddy of the seller or a sellers alternate account that bought them, which gives the seller an excuse of why the "Lotus" or other valuable card was not won by you, even if you bought all the rest of the repacks.
- If the repacks are relatively cheap and only a small number are available from the beginning, the "prize" card was probably never in the repacks to begin with.
Example: if a seller is selling 100 repacks for only $3 each. the lotus or mox isn't in any of the packs (The money card is worth more by itself than all the repacks combined.) - If it sounds too good to be true, it still probably is.
- Do not expect to hit the jackpot on any repack you buy. Most vendors who make repacks typically buy huge collections of cards at a time and any card (rares included) that are not worth much get put into repacks. They can be a great deal for buyers who are new to magic, but do not expect expensive cards.
I hope this helps anyone who is not familiar about repacks. If if helps, please leave a positive vote.
Thank you!
