As we all know there are thousands of sellers on EBay but how is a buyer to decide what to get and from who?? My tips and tricks for buying on eBay!!
1. Take your time, read descriptions! I have noticed alot of trouble with individuals purchasing and then not happy with what they have purchased due to Not Reading the Description. It is a sellers obligation to describe the item in the most honest way so the Buyer is informed of any and all matters pertaining to the product. Read the Descriptions carefully, if you have any other questions ask the buyer. Its your money know what your buying~!
2. Compare, Compare, Compare, just because it looks like a good deal does not mean it is. Take shipping in consideration for the price of the item. Read Descriptions, Check feedback, Price range and many other factors. Be extremely careful on the shipping costs, you may pay twice the shipping than what you paid for the item. Some sellers offer a low price and then make shipping costs high to cover any "loss" for the item. They are still making their money for the item, you are paying it in part for the purchase and in part for the shipping. A small item should not cost $10 to ship! Dont be fooled just because it looks like a good deal. You may pay 2 or 3 dollars more for a better quality item with extras than a low quality item, with nothing special.
3. ASK QUESTIONS!!! Sellers are here to sell, if you are not sure or would like info on an item you are interested in, ask. Dont feel as if you are bothering someone or you are uneducated. I make it a point to know exactly what I am buying. If its a DVD, does it have scratches, if so how many, are they deep?? Camera, what type of format, does it come with memory card, what accessories, does it work properly?? Sometimes sellers do not add all of the details by accident and by you asking, this allows them to add the information to the description.
4. Tip Toe around Feedback for "Newbies"!! Low feedback score does not make the person a bad seller, and I have found those are some of the best sellers! I personally have a nonexistent feedback score, however it has been years since I have been on and forgot my password, my email changed so I made a new account. I have sold for years, and purchased many, many items via EBay. Dont shy away from "Newbies". You may find your new favorite seller!!!
These are just a few tips that I use while shopping, I have had some bad experiences with hidden charges, over charging for shipping, improper item descriptions and so forth and learned little ways to make shopping more pleasant!! Now go find yourself a great deal!!!
