Buying tools on ebay can be a little scary. But, with a little forethought, and some planning, you can buy a nice set of tools for yourself for a fraction of the cost of buying new. I plan out my searches by looking for items that end at off-times, like weekday mornings. I also search for misspellings, like "snap on" as snapon, etc. In doing this, I have amassed a set of tools for a few hundred dollars, that would cost thousands off the truck. Some places to seach include: search "mac" in ebay motors, and in home and garden>tools. People will list a tool as just mac, and it is difficult to find among the mac computers, mac cosmetics, etc.

Selling tools on ebay is as simple as a quality description, with a good avatar picture. When selling metric wrenches by snap on, for instance, I'll put: snap on snapon metric mm combination wrench set new. This covers most of the things that people search for. The avatar picture is very important, because a good listing will blend in without it. Bold type helps, but should not be used unless the item warrants it, since it is a little pricey.

I hope this helps! This plan of action nets me about $500 on the average, which is a nice supplemental income in a state (Michigan) that needs all the help it can get!
