Things to keep in mind when Buying or Selling Furniture
1) Disclose any and all known problems up front.
2) If am item is HEAVY, let your buyer know.
3) If your item can come apart to make a move more easy, include this info in your listing.
4) How big, wide, long also good things to add to your listing.
5) Disclose if an item is from a smoking or nonsmoking place.
6) If you have pets that sit, sleep, play on an item, disclose this info as well.
7) If your item is in a Basement, Attic, hard to get to, move it for your buyer OR add the info to your listing.
8) Try a 25 mile search from your zipcode.
9) If you feel the need, ASK if you might stop by and see the item, then bid.
10) Add Shipping info to your listing.
11) State how many days a buyer has to pickup.
12) Always make sure you have the room for an item first, then bid.
13) If an item has repairs of any kind ( you know of ) you should list this as well.
14) Post questions asked, as others may have the same question.
15) Dark Markers can hide many flaws, a buyer can redo an item and be quite pleased at the results.
16) Stains are very good as well for sprucing up an older or unloved item.
17) Mildew can sometimes be stopped by Bleach and water mixed, wash item down, lightly.
18) Putty can fill in those wee digs, dents, and bumps nicely.
19) Use "Buzz" words like ... HOT, Vintage, Retro, Cozy
20) Start at a lower price to get noticed, place a reserve on your item.
21) Add a gallery photo to get noticed as well.
22) Tell folks just how wonderful your item is and how it would be a great item to own.
23) Min-wax with the poli-coating really brings an unloved item to ready to enjoy in just one afternoon.
24) Wood putty can be molded. fitted, sanded, to hide teeth/chew marks that are on chair legs.
