Lacoste Polo Shirts are among the most popular articles of clothing on the market today. Not surprisingly, there is a vast array of these items on eBay. Instead of paying the standard MSRP price of $72 at a department store, customers can find the same shirts on eBay for under $30. Seems too good to be true? Maybe, maybe not.

While there are a few sellers on eBay (including myself) who sell only authentic Lacoste Polo Shirts, the majority of sellers sell fake shirts. Consider it logically, how can so many distribute Lacoste Polo Shirts at wholesale prices? If you type in "Lacoste Polo" in the eBay search box, you will see that thousands sell these shirts. Lacoste does not have this many authorized distributors.

There are only two ways to obtain Authentic Lacsote Polo Shirts at prices this low:

1. You must be the owner of a department store, such as Nordstroms.
2. You must have connections to a department store owner who will sell you shirts in large quantities for a very low price.

The first option is not practical to the average eBay seller. Put yourself in a Nordstroms owner's shoes; would you sell your shirts on eBay for $25 or in your own store for $72? Clearly, Lacoste sellers on eBay do not also own a department store.

The second option is the only exception you will find to counterfeit merchandise. If someone has connections, it is not difficult to make profits by selling Lacoste shirts purchased in a department store. For example, I have a close friend who owns a chain of six department clothing store. Like all department stores, he has 50% off sales throughout the year. During these sales, anyone can purchase a Lacoste Polo Shirt for only $36. In addition, after obtaining a Presidential Membership (through signing up for the store credit card), anyone can get an additional 20% discount for a total of just $28.80 per Lacoste Polo Shirt. Though this leaves room for only a few bucks of profit on eBay, I get an additional 40% off on any item I buy in large quantities (20 or more) through my friend.

The grand total... $17.28! A few others on eBay in a similar situation as me use this same method to obtain these shirts at incredible prices. We also have the legal right to sell them under the "First Sale Doctrine" which allows anyone to sell merchandise that they purchased from an authorized dealer.

But do not be fooled. The majority of Lacoste sellers on eBay sell fake shirts. Always consider this when purchasing on eBay. In addition, always ask where the shirts were purchased from. To assist you, I will try to keep this page up-to-date with authentic Lacoste sellers on eBay.
