A few tings to consider when buying acrylic paints and brushes.

Acrylics are a type of paint made with synthetic resin as the medium to bind the same Pigment as used in oil paints. Acrylics have an advantage , They dry faster than oils which enables you to continue painting and avoid the long waiting time it takes for oils. clean up is a breeze, just use soap and water. Make sure you buy a bottle of white gesso to mix with your paint when blending for skies and water.

Acrylic paints are available in both student and professional paints.  You would be well advised to buy quality professional Primary colours and  secondary colours  instead of buying  a range of cheeper student grade colours. Student colours are more likely to lose their colour over time.

Brushes
Acrylic paint brushes can be used to apply washes or apply paint thickly.  Sable brushes, or synthetic versions are used for washes where you don't want to show brush marks.. Synthetic brushes and bristle brushes for acrylics are used to apply thicker paint. Try brushes with both long and short handles and different head shapes to see which suit your needs.
My best buy information

The resilience, color holding capacity and super shaping abilities has made Loew-Cornell a trusted brand for over a generation. Only the finest blend of golden taklon hair goes into Loew- Cornell. A brush that mimmick beautifully natural hair but at a much reduced cost. Each brush is hand made with nickle plated brass ferrules and mounted on balanced black lacquered wood handles. The perfect brush for artists at all skill levels using acrylics.

Painting tips:  use 3 containers of water when painting, one with a color float , one with warm water to clean paint and one with clear water to rinse. Clean your brush every few minutes while painting so the acrylic paint  don't dry in the bristles. you may as well throw it away if this happens. Dry Flat and store upright.

Check ebay for a great selection of brushes  and paint.... check the listing for shipping costs and ask questions before you buy, some great finds are out there on ebay waiting for you but some shipping is high so shop around. start  searching and bidding, enjoy your experience with ebay and have a great time.
