I'd like to expand on Saddledealer's good advice. The term bull hide covered tree usually implies the tree is rawhide covered. A rawhide on a tree is a tight fit with tight lacing. There are saddles being sold a bull hide covered that are actually split leather which looks like roughout, it merely covers the tree, offering no strength and protection, and the lacing is also a poor quality split leather.
