Buying a Flyrod is a very personal experience. The basic fact is that no two of us are alike. We have different fishing experiences, body types, strengths and weaknesses, styles of casting. Are we a novice or a pro, left-handed or right, physical characteristics, what do we want this fly rod to do, etc. My strongest recommendation is that you personally try every flyrod you are considering. Make the rounds of the shops and wiggle every possible candidate. It would be desirable to attach the reel you will be using with this new rod. Better yet, many shops offer you the privilege of casting the flyrods in which you are interested. Take advantage of this because you cannot really know how a flyrod will perform until you cast with it. If you follow the above procedure, you will find the flyrod you are looking for. As a guide and extreme flyfisherman, one of the most common complaints of my sports is that they can't cast with this danged new flyrod that they purchased mail order, relying on a catalogue description and photo. Don't make this mistake if you can avoid it. I hope you have found this helpful. Please let me know. Thank you. Sincerely, Capt. Bob
