Make sure you understand the seller's shipping instructions and be ready on your end to handle a large item. It's a good idea to place the generator on a concrete pad so it doesn't disappear in the mud during a storm and also close to your home or business' electrical panel. Make arrangements for a qualified electrician to hookup your generator through a transfer switch to your electrical service location. Once you have your generator in place you will be ready for the next power interruption - and the envy of the neighborhood.
