All of us want the best car, Rolls-Royce, or custom made high speed cruisable flying wheels. BUT the real question is is that the car you really need? Is that the car you can afford? The first thing you want to do is think about only the cars in your budget range. (Don't also just buy a cheap car or the cost you ahve to follow up to fix it can get higher than actual new car sale value!). Next you should be concern about the safety and the use of it to fit your purpose of buying. Not all people need sports cars or not all need vans, it all depends on family size, driver's age and what is the car intended to use for. Below, you will see some list of what you or your family should consider:
Bumpy high terrains with mountains and desert: large sized cars. SUVs, Trucks, 4runners. Make sure you get the 4 wheel drives, because they can endure the harsh weather and roughness of the roads. Why those large cars? It's simple, Minivans and other mid to small cars can face timing belt problem, or worst case scenario, damage of the engine which can cost you $1500+ more to fix.
Snowy regions: 4 wheel drive sports sedan. (Subaru preferable)
Couples: Pick-up, sports car, convertibles or economy cars to cruise around, chill and enjoy the road trip / road.
Families: Obviously vans, mini-vans or station wagon. (If considering to buy mazda, get either a new, or used certified one. Don't buy used with high mileage. Fixing mazda, is very expensive. Parts cost twice than other cars' - My own experience)
Teenagers: large or mid-sized cars because teens have the most traffic violations and accidents. Small cars will not protect them much from accidents.
Hills and Mountains Regions: 4 wheel drive sports sedan or trucks. (Subaru preferable)
Other Reasons: Any car you want. haha
The next thing we need to consider is gas mileage and reliability. Always buy the car that will use up less fuel and go more miles per gallon.
Urban: 4 cylinder vehicles
Interstate: 6 cylinder vehicles.
Also get the car with security system or safety systems. ABS, Satellite controlled brakes, or rear view camera installed ones would be a plus. Lo-jack only would also be perfect enough for security.
If possible, do a carfax history check before you buy. Why not pay about $20 to check the history of the car you want to buy and make sure the car will run great for a long time!!!!
Don't get into too much high-tech gadgets. Who knows what could happen if they mal-function. :p
May the ride be fun to you.
