Looking for that certain card can be hard and expensive to find on your own by just simply buying packs, but thanks to Ebay its much easier to find that card but there are a few things to look out for when doing this.
First off always read the description all the way through because you may be buying into a grab bag gimmick and should stay away from those. A new one that is going around now is the "I flip a coin, if its heads you win this card listed if its tails you get one other rare." In other words you never win. How do we know what the come out was if you never saw the flip? One of the other big signs is if you read the sellers review and he's done this gimic five other times and its the same card still that means that coin has no heads. The odds of it landing on heads are 50/50 not 0/100 that right there tells you he's lying to us if five sales have not won that card, it's a very unlikely streak of luck. Then theres also the I roll a six side dice one to. This one is harder to disprove with its one out of six chance, and once again how do we know that that dice did not land on the winning number or if one was even used? The next one is I have pre packed 10 envelops and one of these has the card listed. Once again we never saw him package these cards so we don't know if the card is really in there. So these are the big scams to avoid.
Now another to be aware of is sealed packs, I would stay away from them unless your looking for commons and silver rares. If the ad says factory sealed box then its safe, but even though some may say factory sealed packs be carefully many of these packs may have been scaled to remove the packs that contain super rares to secret rares then repacked in the box. Most of these will be titled as "Box of factory sealed packs."
The safest of all is buying singles although there are fakes out there of these also. Most often you can tell by the color of the picture or the foiling of the card if it doen't look like the others your use to seeing then don't buy it . As for buying from the seller, weather a new one or a well experienced seller is a though call. With a seller who's been selling a long time the best bet is to read there reviews not just a few but also read the negitive ones to. Usually if a seller gets a negitive feed he'll leave one for the buyer also, so look at the buyer also to get a little more info. As for a new seller I my self have had good luck with them plus you can win bids cheaper because many are afraid to buy from them.
Well this is the best I can advise for now if new things come up I keep you all posted. TY
