Windstone Editions is a popular line of fine fantasy statues by artist M. Pena.  Windstone is both a great collectible item and a wonderful investment. When buying Windstone on E-bay here are a few basic tips to remember....

1.)Buy what you like!  Just because an item has the highest price doesn't mean you have to buy it (but with Windstone if it's expensive it's probably rare)

2.)If buying retired Windstone remember to make sure it's really retired, just because a seller says it is doesn't mean that it is.  Some sellers don't really know what they have so make sure it's really Windstone in the first place!  When buying retired or rare pieces try to find one's that have the original tag and box, this will help to hold up the value of the piece, but if you never plan to resell your Windstone this it's really all that important. 

Older Windstone will not have the M. Pena hang tag. Windstone started adding the tags sometime in the 90's

A side note on the boxes...the older Windstone pieces will have a Styrofoam case or box and the newer one's have cardboard boxes, Windstone does not make "Art boxes" like some collectibles. 

3.)Don't forget when buying Windstone look for a picture of the M. Pena signature and the Windstone stamp on bottom, if the seller doesn't have a picture just ask for one! 

Side note about the Windstone stamp...the older Windstone pieces will not have a felt bottom and just have the stamp on the bottom of the stone, the newer items have a nice felt bottom with Windstone Editions and the address on the bottom.  The M. Pena signature is really "carved" into the side of the statue and is from the mold the statue was made, so this doesn't  mean the pieces was "hand-signed" M. Pena very rarely "hand-signs" items other than the LE Wind Wizard and other rare pieces sold by Windstone.  And to answer all your questions YES Windstone Editions the company and M. Pena herself do sell on E-bay. 

4.)Now for my last tip....Always buy from a "Smoke Free" home, smoke can damage Windstone especially the white items and the ones in eggs.  The smoke gives the white a stained look and will not come off with out damaging the paint.
