Before buying vintage Cabbage Patch dolls there are some things you should consider. Most of the older dolls have been used and some have been abused. Questions to ask are: Are there any permanent marker marks?, Is there any damage to the eyes?, Does the skin have serious pulls or missed stitching?, Is there house paint on the doll?, Has the hair been cut?, Does it have pox marks and dent or cuts on the face (rub marks) ? I have been restoring CPK dolls for a long time and there are some defects that are not repairable. Stitching can be fixed and some stains removed but I have received dolls with nail polish, oil stains, permanent markers on the lips, cut hair, damaged complexion and this was after being told the doll was in good condition. I sell only dolls that can be restored to near perfect and keep the others for my collection. I hope this information is helpful.
