About Vintage Ads:
Vintage advertising is ideal for framing and displaying on your wall for unique retro or shabby chic decor in your den, living room, kitchen, etc. A vintage ad is an old paper advertisement that has been removed from an original vintage magazine or publication. Vintage ads are full of nostalgia which makes them excellent original gift ideas for friends and family. Vintage ads are much more collectible and harder to find than a modern print or sign.

Buying Vintage Ads on eBay:
When buying vintage ads, remember that anything with large tears, holes, heavy creases or faded colors may be difficult to repair, but... you may never see another one like it again. For many collectors a little wear and tear adds to the vintage appeal of the ad. Always read the entire description to be sure the item is a genuine original vintage advertisement and not a newer reproduction and ask the seller any other questions before you bid.

Care & Preservation:
To keep your vintage paper ad in good condition, you should store it in a clean, dry, acid-free environment and display it in a location that doesn't get direct sunlight at any time of the day.

Framing & Display:
If you are framing your vintage ad for display purposes, Use a black or dark colored backing paper or board because this will enhance the color and detail of your ad. If your print has tears or missing pieces, use a white or light colored backing paper instead because this will make any the defects less noticable. Hang your vintage ads only in areas where they will not be in direct sunlight to prevent the colors from fading.

Repairing Creases:
If your ad has any bends or light creases, these can often be removed by placing the sheet between two blank sheets of paper and slowly running a warm iron over the area.
