The purpose of this guide is to keep you safe buying tools on EBAY. I am a tool wholesaler for a number of Tool Manufactures. Read these 5 rules and apply them to your buying practices.
Rule #1- Always Look at the pictures. If the picture is fuzzy or dark, or you can't see the brand in the picture contact the seller for a better picture. If they don't respond or give some lame reason why they can't DON'T BUY THE TOOL.
Rule #2- Go to the tool manufactures website and check prices from them. Most tool maufactures have a website or their website direct's you where to buy them. Don't take what seems like to good of a price for granted. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Rule #3- If the listing doesn't have a condition of the tool listed contact the seller and ask. Save their response just in case you get the tool and it's crap. You're covered there.
Rule #4- Watch the shipping prices carefully. Some seller's mark up shipping as much as 2 to 3 times of the actual cost. To see the actual cost of the shipping the seller paid to ship you're item, go to the View Order Detail's link in your Won Item's in My EBAY.
And Rule #5- Read the seller's feedback. Always read the seller's feedback. Don't worry if the seller has a 99.8% or 99.6% positive feedback rating. You have buyer's out there who are psycho and have unreal expectation's in everything they do. Read the feedback and you'll see who is crazy.
FOLLOW THESE RULES AND YOU WILL HAVE A PLEASENT BUYING EXPERIENCE ON EBAY.
