Sporting Event Tickets
When wanting to attend a sporting Event, I can not stress the importance of knowing your seat before buying. I have seen people over and over run off to Ticketmaster and use the "best seats available" feature only to get overpriced seats. Majority of the times, these ARE NOT the best seats that are available either, they are most of the times what ticket re-sellers/distributors refer to as "hard seats" (tickets that are hard to sell). I have been involved in the Sports Entertainment business now for over 4 years, and what helps me to gain and retain clients year in and year out is our free service of being able to show our client exactly what they are going to see at the game, before they purchase the ticket.
Things to consider before buying tickets
-
What is the face value of the ticket?
-
How much of a discount are you actually getting?
-
Accessibility of the seat. - Are you climbing over people to get out, are people climbing over you to get in? How tight/spacious is the seating/leg room. Padded, or hard?
-
Obstructed view, (Will you be looking through a goal post, speakers, can you see the "jumbotron") are the seats considered FULL VIEW seats?
-
How close are the restrooms, concession stands.
-
Is it General Seating, or Private Seating? General seating you usually have vendors hollering (Beer, Popcorn, every 5 minutes in front of you while trying to watch the game) Private seating does not allow vendors in that section. (If you want something from a vendor their will be an Usher/Concierge to have it brought to your section.
-
Look at all Sections that are available....Example..If you see tickets here on Ebay, for the Superbowl for sections A, B, C, D, and Z. Get pictures of those seats so you know what to expect. This type of service is free for clients at Williams Sports Entertainment

Is the game televised Nationaly or not? I had a very bad experience around 1995 when Texas A&M was playing at Texas Tech on ABC (football). We had front row seats there at Jones Stadium just behind the Players Bench. Quiet a bit of money was spent on Tickets only for us to view 3/4 of the game looking to our side to see what just happened on the "Jumbotron". Directly in front of us was a huge truck that contained a very large camera w/stand mounted in the bed of the truck. The truck would drive back and forth to follow the ball. So since we sat between the 45-50yrd line the truck was in our way as you can tell every time the ball was anywhere but the goal line area. We had a horrible time and learned a lesson of never sitting in those seats again during any game that was going to be Nationally Televised.

If you attend Sporting Events on a regular occasion, get acquainted w/someone who does business with the Stadium on a regular basis. These people always have access to good seats, and you don't have to wait in lines for them.
Ready to purchase tickets
- Always make sure that your tickets are sent to you with some type of insurance for the "Face Value" of the ticket if you paid under face value for the ticket.
- Make sure that when the tickets are sent, YOU request that there be a Signature Required for delivery. This will eliminate the Laziness of UPS and Fedex folks of just leaving the tickets on your doorstep because they don't want to knock on the door and wait for you to answer it. They would rather drop off packages to get home early, the can really care less whether you get your package or not.
- Only buy from people who have an established reputation. Avoid "street sellers". Street sellers are Notorious for selling Tickets Cheap, but stolen. With todays technology many Arena's and Stadiums have gone to the Barcode scanning system. Your tickets can be reported Stolen, and when you goto enter the Stadium it will alert the attendent as being stolen, then you end up getting a good massage from the nearest team of Security Guards/Police.
