Do you want to have your baby make a fashion statement?  Do you want to have your baby outwardly express their personality and interests through the clothes that they wear? Do you like to find the perfect pair of shoes to match that cute outfit? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then buying a pair of soft soled leather baby shoes is highly recommended!

Soft soled baby shoes are made with high quality leather that have decorative, fun and creative images on the top of the shoe. Shoe designs include various animals, foods and sports. The shoes feature an elastic ankle to ensure that babies are unable to take them off. Don't worry, these shoes are very easy to slip on! These shoes are doctor recommended as they are the closest thing to bare feet and help babies to develop their feet properly.

Many recent Hollywood celebrity moms have purchased these shoes for their new babies. If you check out all the "Celebrity" magazines you'll see these shoes on many of these young celeb offspring! I suggest buying multiple pairs to mix and match with baby's outfits. You'll get TONS of comments about how cute your baby's shoes are, so be prepared! Don't say I never warned you! New styles usually come out every Spring and Fall.

Soft Soled Shoe Manufacturers

Robeez - Robeez Footwear is currently the most well know manufacturer of soft sole leather shoes. I guess you can say, they are the Market Leader. Robeez is a manufacturer in Canada and design and make all of their shoes in Canada. Their designs are colourful and innovative. They are on the cutting edge of fashion and what is hot for the season. Their quality and design work increase every year. Robeez have 60-70 different designs.

Lil Jo's - Lil Jo's is another Canadian soft sole manufacturer. They started their business a few years ago and have gained popularity recently. Lil Jo's have over 80 designs. Lil Jo's has a licensing agreement with the NHL (National Hockey League) and manufacture a number of shoes with the logos of various hockey teams. If you know a hockey fan, these shoes are a definate must! Lil Jo's has a flashy design line called the "Emily Rose" collection, this collection is pretty wild!

Bobux - Bobux is a manufacturer located in New Zealand. Bobux has over 60 designs and also manufacture sheep skin insoles to keep your baby's feet warm in colder temperatures.

Booties - Robeez Booties hit the market in 2004. They are similar to their shoes, but have a thicker lining to keep baby's feet warm in the cold. They are also easy to slip on and difficult for baby's to take off. Booties are not meant for heavy use in the snow, as they have a suede sole and get soaked through easily. They are really meant to keep the feet warm.

Shoe Sizes

These soft soled shoes come in a number of sizes. The sizes are 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years and 3-4 years. Not all designs come in the bigger sizes, which is unfortunate. These shoes do accomodate growth, but it is recommended to get a new pair when the toes touch the end of the shoe.

Soft Soled Shoe Care

These shoes can be washed in the washing machine, but it is encouraged to air dry as they do shrink. If washed frequently they will shrink faster. If the shoes are strictly worn indoors, they will last longer and the bottom of the sole will keep their original colour. The suede on the bottom of the shoe will rub down. These shoes are very durable and will not break. They may get some leather cracks on the top and around the ankle and the bottom suede does wear down and turns black.

The good news is that there is a market on eBay for used shoes that are in good condition. You can usually get half the price that you paid for, sometimes more! Here's hoping that some adult soft soled leather shoes come to market in the future :)
